About this toolkit
Content has been checked for accessibility in line with the relevant RDS standard operating procedure.
Critical Care is part of the portfolio of work within the Modernising Patient Pathways Programme, with the Scottish Critical Care Specialty Delivery Group (SCCSDG) acting as the key meeting series.
The SCCSDG brings together multidisciplinary stakeholders to:
- Explore and deliver the implementation of existing programmes of work
- Share best practice
- Explore and implement new approaches to care
The SDG sets strategic direction for the work-programme in that specialty, including the prioritisation of new work and review of legacy projects. The group also provides a national forum for shaping critical care services across Scotland - including the island boards, rural general hospitals and small district general hospitals- to help ensure access to care for the 20% of the Scottish population living in remote or rural areas.
In terms of the development and approval of Critical Care Pathways / Resources, the CfSD Pathway Group is our governance group that both initially review and approve these for publication. In addition, we also have the Primary / Secondary Care Interface Group that review these as well to highlight any potential impact on Primary Care.
The toolkit is the responsibility of the Centre for Sustainable Delivery. It has been approved by a Project Manager, National Associate Clinical Director, Pathway Development Lead and Head of Programmes.
If further changes are required after toolkit publication or at review, the new edits / wording will be agreed via the relevant Pathway Development Task and Finish Group (sitting under the CfSD Scottish Critical Care Specialty Delivery Group).
This will then be approved by this SDG and final approval will be achieved via our CfSD Pathway Sign Off Group.
New changes / edits required will then be communicated to the lead knowledge manager for this toolkit for implementation. Once actioned, the link to this toolkit will also be updated via our CfSD Website (managed via our Golden Jubilee Comms Team).
