Currently within NHS Lanarkshire, patients with post-menopausal bleeding (PMB) on HRT, should be referred directly to Gynaecology on an Urgent Suspicion of Cancer basis, rather than directly for transvaginal ultrasound scanning via radiology. The SCI Gateway referral template includes a non-mandatory drop-down section of major and minor risk factors for PMB on HRT for those referred with post-menopausal bleeding on HRT (as pe the British Menopause Society Guidelines), and it would be useful to aid vetting for referrers if risk factors can be selected where present. Where possible, it is useful for a current BMI to be included too (a higher BMI representing a higher risk for endometrial cancer) to aid vetting.
