DOXAZOSIN

Use of doxazosin m/r tablets is not recommended.

Important: Formulation and dosage details

Formulation:

Tablets 1mg, 2mg, 4mg

Dosage:

Hypertension: 1mg daily, increased after 1 to 2 weeks to 2mg once daily, and thereafter to 4mg once daily, if necessary; maximum 16mg.
Urinary retention: see Genito-urinary disorders.

8mg tablets are NOT cost effective, they are NOT recommended to be prescribed except for patients prescribed 16mg dose.
